There are many cotton gifts you could choose:
Give a stylish, fashionable item of clothing
Give a more mundane gift of a shirt or blouse - but add a brooch or cuff-links to make it special
Give a luxurious toweling bathrobe - sometimes you can have it personalized with initials
Give a bouquet of cotton flowers
If you compare the American and British gift lists you will see that the corresponding gift to cotton is paper. How about a paper gift such as theater tickets?

It depends on the person but I would use a real nice cotton table cloth. Like a white one with nice embrodery on it.

I had a huge comforter made for us.
I picked out the fabric for the top and bottom and they put a layer of fluffy wool in the middle.
Here is a link to where I bought it. I live near the store so I was able to bring everything to them.

An elegant table cloth, (eyelet pattern is really classic)..it can be passed down from generation to generation.
