I know, I know. It's an old motherboard. I haven't had any problem with it until lately when trying to play Dreamfall, which requires a video card with pixel shading. Right now, I have a GeForce 2 (I also tried a GeForce 4, but that is just a GeForce 2 marketed as a budget card.) I have heard that the game can run on a GeForce 3, but I don't know if my motherboard can take it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

That a pretty old board:

Seems to have the old 1x/2x agp slot. This card might work (about the fastest you can get).

Little tough trying to find a good benchmark page for that card. The 9250 is a little faster then the 9200.

And 8x is NOT compatible with 1x/2x slots. It will fry. Pci-e cards do not run at 16x speeds, it's more like 8x. Here's the charts to prove it:

Not much faster then the AGP cards sold now, but pci-e is the future. You might want to consider of upgrading soon.

You will just waste your money by putting a fast 8X AGP card on that 2X AGP slot. The card will be severely bottlenecked/slowed down by the slow 2X slot as well as the slow processor. If you really want to enjoy games, better spend your money on an upgrade. PCIe would be best. Cards are fast and cheaper than AGP.

Why don't you call TigerDirect at 800-800-8300. They can help you and they have very good prices as well.
