I am interested in real estate and would like to go to open houses to check stuff out and get a feel for the market. However, because of my age, I don't look like a serious potential buyer. Will my showing up and just looking around with no real intent to buy tick off the realtor/seller or are they expecting this?

A Realtors job is to get as many potential buyers thru the door as possible. You showing up helps them, so DONT worry (I am also a realtor). One thing most realtors know, is to NEVER judge a book by its cover. My only important advice to you is to choose open houses that serves food.... Bon appetit

Unless the Realtor is really overambitious or obsessed, I don't think they will mind you looking. Their goal is just to sell the house, not to make a sales pitch to every person who walks through the door.

I expect it. Go ahead, look around, everyone else does! Have a cookie. Ask some questions if I'm not busy. Hang around and shoot the breeze for a few minutes if nothing is going on. I'm happy to share info.

Unless you are a minor you could be serious. Plenty of young people buy homes. But, that doesn't matter, the agents know that people come for a wide variety of reasons. Some are just noisy neighbors!

You can go, but try dressing better, I think it does help. If you wear a nice shirt and slacks with loafers, with your hair tidy, you'll look more mature than some kids in jeans and sneakers.
