A friend of mine posts here and sometimes I will see his questions and pop over and answer them.

My question is - how does the majority feel about non gays, lesbians being here and answering questions? I can see it going either way and certainly wouldn't have my feelings hurt if you'd rather it be a community made up only of glt.

I have no problems with anyone being here, unless the only reason to be here is to harass and bash...then I find it a waste of time to even read the questions. This is an open 'forum' for exchange of info, etc. I think it serves the straight community as well as the gay, for it promotes understanding...Gays are simply people, no more or less. Who they go to bed with is of little or no concern to anyone but them and their partner(s). What I do not like to see here is religious zealots screaming and quoting biblical nonsense...they make themselves look like escaped lunatics..which they well may be. Internet Trolls inhabit this area for reasons unknown to me. I have no concept of spending that kind of time just to rile others...what a waste of a life and so much energy.
As far as I am concerned, read, answer, and ask away. I certainly spend as much if not more time in Marriage and Divorce section than I do here, for I feel that I have very real advice from a very different perspective than many of the people there. At least, I remain detached, read between the lines, and lay it out bluntly.
Good luck

I am a lesbian and people problems are the same across the board no matter who you are having a relationship with. You are fine here!! Some questions you can not answer, you do not know what it is like to come out or be bashed for being gay!! But everything is pretty basic.

It depends largely on the question. With issues with which you have familiarity you can impart wisdom. If you are simply responding out of habit, though, you may want to check out other responses first. You may already understand the issues, but in some instances you may not.

What do you mean? Are you saying get rid of the bisexuals? NO! Personally, I am a straight male, and I support LGBT with all my heart. Anyone who wants to be here to offer support to LGBT should be allowed in. However, bashers are not welcome at any time.

As long as they are respectful and not gay bashing for lack of better term then I have no prob with straights being here.

I much prefer full integration, and a community made up of GLBTS. S=straight.

We're all under the sexual orientation spectrum, we should reflect that, none can escape it.
