I know the first thing I'm going to be told is get rid of standing water, but that's next to impossible because it's been raining alot here and I have many low areas in my yard where water collects.
The reason I would like to get rid of the mosquitoes without poison is because of my dog, who plays in and drinks from the puddles of water in my yard. Are there any products or methods that would help without making my dog sick?

plant marigolds around your yard. They are a natural mosquitoe repellent. You can also try to attract birds to your yard as well. You will never be able to get rid of them completely however, birds will eat them and they really don't like the marigold plants

Put up bird and bat houses. If you can put some type of pump in the water so it is not stagnant it will help as they breed in standing water.

If it's standing water that is the source of the skeeters, you could spray vegetable oil on the surface. The skeeter larvae would not be able to breathe.
