sorry to tell you that this is a common thing and that you cant do anything about it.you need to take the test again but this time you will have to do the cbt and the theory test and they were not about when you last took your test.i work for a motorcycle riding school and you wouldnt belive the amount of people we have coming to us because dvla have missed the bike entitlement off their liscence after they moved house etc.its a very common thing and it works both ways some people send teir liscence off for a change of adress and they get it back with full bike entitlement or full hgv without ever taking a test.

This has happened to friends of mine.... some wondered if they wanted the hassle of re-taking their tests.. they did..you must tell your friends to photocopy their licences, if you have a photocopy you stand a chance against DVLA, if not I'm sorry to say they are too powerful. Spread the word! I have to say that while I have passed my test and I have a full licence I would not stop riding my bike! Because they have lost your licence you should take extra care not to get caught!
Oh yeah and best of luck with your test.

Probably not much help now, but you need to keep a photocopy of your old licence and check the new one asap. If you challenge it within a few days they will still have the old docs and can correct it, but they don't keep them very long. Of course all the original pass certificates have been long gone.

Go take the test again. You passed it once, right?
