LOL! I'm half Scottish- my father was born in Glasgow! Why would you think you'd get trashed for asking this? I spent a year in Scotland, and I LOVED the people. What did you find interesting about them? It depends on where you travel in Scotland, some areas can be kind of dangerous (like parts of Glasgow) but that can happen in almost any big city) My father is the most distinguished 82 year old I know, and I am proud to be his daughter. When I was over there, I thought everyone was pretty friendly (no offense to London) and I was sort of wary at first but the people were really nice. The food was..um, interesting, (yes, I tried haggis) and I'd never eaten a fried Mars bar before. My second favorite country's people I like the most are New Zealanders. A total difference, but their hospitality is pretty much the same.

When I worked at a care home for the disabled I had a chance to meet many people who had immigrated to the US.
Many of the people I met that were from Africa (NOT "African-Americans) were among some of the nicest people I met. Many of them spoke English fluently (with a delightful accent) and were very well educated.
It is a lot of work and takes a lot of money to move to the US from anywhere in the African continent. Most of the people I met who had made that journey missed their original home but REALLY appreciated what it was to be an American.
