Now that we're going to have a cichlid tank, I want information on the cool looking cichlid I've seen in a local fish store. It looks like a black cooling lava surface with cracks running through it showing the molten lava flowing beneath.

It matches the description of the black tiger oscar I have in my tank! Although they start out cute and small, they do hit over 12 inches and require a minimum of a 55 gallon tank for just one of these little monsters :) They're great fish though..TONS of personality! Almost like an underwater puppy dog!

the only fish that would match the description with my personal encounters at the fish store would be oscars. They are somewhat a charcoal color with orange "cracks" on the sides. If thats not it, then it must be one of a kind fish.
