Does anybody know if there are such things as maternity 'plans' or insurances that you can take out in the UK?

This would be to pay into monthly until you have a baby and then it would pay out, supplementing statutory maternity pay.

I don't mean health cash plans that pay out a small amount on the birth of a child - more of a longer term thing.

Not sure if they exist in this country.

I don't know, but my boyfriend and I are saving $25 each(American dollars) per week. When the baby arrives, we'll have over $1500 by the time our baby comes. This will take care of the expenses for my maternity leave ,which is 4 weeks.

When I was expecting my second child I put money into an isa every month, what ever I had spare really and gained a good interest amount onto it, plus it was tax free. I have never heard of any maternity plans though. Hope this helps x

sorry i have never heard of this, i think it would just not be viable for a company to pay on this. you need to save up in a high interest account or something like that .
