Well Bobby cox has been seen sitting at the bottom of the steps outside of the dug out smokin a cigar, while being close enough to still give orders.
This is probably illegal, but nothing was said because he was out of sight of the umps.

they have to go to the club house. Some can communicate with the coach in charge. Some may have a radio or talk a bout to continue with the game. Bobby Valentine of the Mets in the late 1990s went back in the game with a disguise.
But they must leave the actual playing area.

Some try to circumvent the rules and hide in the tunnel that leads from the dugout to the clubhouse and pass instructions to the assistant coach who is acting as the manager. Others obey the rules and return to the clubhouse and watch the rest of the game on television.
The manager can also change into street clothes and watch the rest of the game from the stands, as long as he is not near his team's dugout. or bullpen.

I would say that the majority of the ejected managers go back in sit in the locker room of there team and watch the game on tv and stay in contact w/the assistant mngr. or coach via messenger or on cell phone so that they can still basically manage the team, that is just my guess, however they could like Bobby Valentine did a few years back and come out in a tshirt and fake mustache, brilliant idea, really bad disguise, woo hoo

They have to go to the Clubhouse. However, most managers will manage the game from the tunnel.

They sneak back into the dugout with a Charlie Chaplin disguise and watch the game 'incognito.'
Or maybe that was just Bobby Valentine. Hmm...

They are to immediately leave the dug out area, and then after that it's up to them. I think that most usually head to the clubhouse or their office.

Either that or they watch it on closed circuit TV and communicate by phone.
