It runs for a few seconds and shuts down. It has a red and blue plastic adjustment screw. It is about 10 years old and has new plug and air filter.

There should be low and high speed adjusting screws and also an idle screw that adjusts how far the throttle is closed. Will it continue to run with your finger on the throttle? If it does it may just need the idle set up a bit. If not it is probably needing the carb cleaned.

It should be the screw on the left for low idle. Just screw it a 1/4 turn right, start it see how it runs. Keep turnin it if it still has problems.
