The bombing raids on Japan were some of the biggest of the war. This was a direct result of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress that had a much bigger payload and was more advanced than its predecessor, the B-17 Flying Fortress. I can't pinpoint a single raid as being the largest-they were all pretty huge-but the raids on Japan were among the largest.
