Would a two month old baby be too young to take to Cancun, Mexico for a week? My family rents a condo each year for a week, and my husband and I would really like to go, but we are wondering if it would be too soon to travel with a small baby. Any help is appreciated.

I think you'll be fine. Check with your doctor about additional vaccines, but I doubt you or the baby will need any.
If you're not breastfeeding, you'll need to be sure you have a clean water source while there to mix formula.
Remember, every member of the family, including the baby, now needs a passport to travel to Mexico.

I called and asked my brother for two reasons.1st he and His family travel to Mexico every year for vacation and 2nd he is a MD ( pediatrician/ ER). He said traveling w/ a baby that young is tricky and not advised, especially in a another country as they have absolutely no immunity from some of the bacteria and simple germs . The baby has had no immunizations and you are going to a country that is riddled w/ poverty and desiease that are unheard of in the US. Not to mention the water... He also reminded me that his 14 yr old daughter got hook worm last year while on vaction in mexico .. And as a side note my first child was born in Tucson Az. on an airforce base and upon leaving the hospital the Doctor urged us NOT to take the baby to Mexico (we were 15 mins from the border) until she had atlest had her first series of shots.

As long as your baby isn't colicky and won't disrupt the other passengers for the entire flight, then you should be fine to take him. Make sure you let them know how old he is and see if you can get a seat near the front of the plane so you're the last ones on and the first ones off.

i took my daughter camping when she was 4 weeks old and i have friends who took there kids to a 4 day festival when they got out of the hospital
and the kids were fine

your fine, just make sure he/she has the vaccinations up to date
