The engine cuts off but usually all you have to is put it in park and turn the ignition and it'll usually start. I've replaced the spark plug wires and battery recently. I'm pretty sure it's not the fuel pump because it doesn't sputter when it cuts off. I'm kind of thinking it might be the ignition coil because the lights in the car stay on when it cuts off.

I had an older (85) Accord that did the same thing. I would simply pop it into neutral, turn the key off and back on to start like you would normally. It would turn over right away and start right up. It turned out to be the electronic fuel pump like you suggested. Like you said it didn't sputter just died real smooth and would start up the same way. Good luck and I'm sure the codes will tell you something.

Take it to a place and have the error codes read, and see if there are any codes that might indicate the problem. Then you can go from there. good luck.
