The made-up story of 'Jack & Rose' aside, the TITANIC was a true part of history. It REALLY DID SINK! Over 2000 people REALLY DID DIE! To make a sequel to Titanic would be like making a sequel to 'Pearl Harbor' or 'Appollo 13' or any other historical fact. Now, they could re-make Titanic with different sub-plots and characters, but there was only ONE Titanic and it sank! Get it! Got it! Sometimes a little common sense outweighs sights & sounds. ;-)

I don't believe there will be. First there is no way to top the first one if it was to be done by another producer/ director. Second...I am not exactly sure what the story line would be. Jack died. So much of the titanci was about that relationship.
I think it is a myth that there is going to be a second one.
