is PARETO LOGIC a good anti-spyware a good programme to have?
does it work well enough to be safe?

Paretologic used to be listed as "rogue, suspect or of dubious value" amongst spyware experts, but is no longer on that list.
Personally, I would recommend Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html - free*, ultra-effective, and safe to use.
* but if you like it, send them a donation if you can.

Pareto Logic has been on the rogue list for quite some time. They are off the list now as the claim they have cleaned up their act. I enjoy in my spare time testing antispyware/antivirus software to see if they work as claim.
Xoftspy Se in my opinion fails to work as the company claims. Finds a fair amount of spyware, and when you go to remove the spyware the software say, "removed". On every scan I found the software failed to remove anything as all spyware still remained in my computer.
Removed with the free version of Superantispyware that will find spyware missed by all others. Plus you get automatic updates with the free version.

Good idea to run atleast two antispyware, only one antivirus program. The second one I use is A2Squared Malware from Austria. Their free version will protect you from rogue dialers, worms, keyloggers, spyware, trace spyware, trace cookies and rogue cookies. http://www.emsisoft.com

Its not neccessarily a rouge software but its marketed and distrubed by affiliates who use spam like techniques to push it. Its safe for your PC. But its not a top of the line spyware removal tools. IF you can pick up a compy of April PC World or PC Magazine, they detailed ranking of best anti-spyware programs. Webroots Spysweeper is the most effective at removal. Hope this helps
