I believe that you have to be 18 years of age or older. I am an Assistant Manager at an Apartment Community where it is 18 years old or older to be a Lease Holder but the Apartment Community that I worked out before this one you had to be 21 years of age or older to be a lease holder so it can vary!

Everybody will tell you that anywhere in the country,a apartment complex will not rent to a minor, you have to be 18,because they only rent to adults. You also can ask the apartment manager where you want to rent at,what they require of you as a tenant to be able to rent there.Good Luck.

You need to be 18, or whatever the age is for being a legal adult in your state. If you are not 18, someone who is would have to sign the contract to rent.

In California, you gotta be 18 before you can sign a binding contract. However, leases and rentals for less than one year, can technically be VERBAL.
So to answer your question... 18.
