Find out what your computer's Motherboard card slots are able to hold.
See if you have AGP slot or PCI slots (PCI has a new status type so make sure to get the information off your Motherboard to see if have the old PCI slots or the newest ones). Then find a high end graphics (also known as a Video Card) card that has the correct slot status that your Motherboard provides.
Learn some safety tips from the Pro's about installing a video card with high end graphics before you open your computers case and start unplugging and plugging stuff.
Just for starters, "Unplug your computer from the wall socket before opening the case. Unplug any devices plugged into your computer that have their own power cord. Unplug your Moniter from the present Video card jack."

Wish I had more info on WHAT kind of graphics card we're talkin about. They have made ISA, PCI, and AGP, and the recent is PCI-E 16
1.Be sure the computer is off.
2.Be SURE it's unplugged!
3.Open the side of the case that gives you access to the expansion slots,(i.e. PCI slots, AGP slots, etc.)
4.If the graphics card is a PCI, or PCI-Express it'll go in the very top slot. Aim the metal bracket that goes towards the outside of the case at a slight angle, while lining the 'pins' at the bottom of the card in the slot, and push down gently while straightening the card to vertical. Insert the screw attaching the metal bracket to the case, and hook up the power wire to the graphics card,(if required), to the source mentioned in the instructions, given with the card. Put the case back together, hook up the power, and follow the instructions, with the card about disabling the on-board video, if your 'mobo' came with it.

First make sure the comp is unplugged. Then look on your motherboard for the correct slot it should stand out from the others. They usually don't go straight in the slot so you may have to angle it a bit. Once its set and you confident about make sure to screw it down. Put the case back together and start it up install the software with it and go from there.
