Voodoo is a practice (African) witches are white witches and black witches so u cant put all under witches. What about wicca . Well how do u know ur next door neighbour is a witch? the reason for this question is that it takes a witch to know another witch so u are perhaps one. Read a lot about them. witch (female) (wizard) male.

VooDoo is a real religion, it gets practiced all the time in some places or cultures. It's not always a bad thing, I think they also use it for healing and such.

But as for "witchery"? There are witches, yes. But the ones in real life can't do extraordinary things like the ones on tv do such as (Sabrina, Samantha, I Dream Of Genie, The Craft, Charmed, etc) They mainly do healing spells too, I think. I think witches believe in the 3 fold rule. Whatever you do comes back to 3 times more powerful than you put out. If you do something nice, you get rewarded three fold, but if you do something naughty, you get that back three fold also (might not be so nice, eh)

Cheers

Yup. I do think they are real. Witches are different than Voodoo Priests. I have been to Haiti and have seen Voodoo compounds. Very creepy (to me anyway). Voodoo is a strange combo of old African religion mixed in with Catholicism. I don't understand it completely, but they put curses on people and states and nations. They beat drums and go into trances. Very unnerving. I would stay away because I choose to be in the light not the darkness of evil.

I have never criticised anyone for the phrasing of a question on Q&A so far but I'm afraid your question is very clumsy.

What exactly do you mean by "Witch"? the word can be a generalism these days, it's meaning will vary greatly depending on the context of it's use.

I recommend you think about what *you* actually mean by "Witch" before you ask such questions

In my opinion it depends which witches your talking about. If your talking about the witches from fairy tales and stories of old to scare kids, ones with pointy hats who ride broomsticks across the night sky and kidnapp children then no i dont think they are real. If however you are talking about real witches, earth centered beings who believe they have a energy in the world which they can direct how they choose then yes they are real and all about you in day to day life.

Witches are followers of a neo-pagan religion, so they are real enough. If you mean the supernatural kind that cast spells, well there is some evidence for that too, using a type of ESP called "thought transference". I understand that this is also the active power in Voudoo. It can be used for good or evil. The trouble with evil is that it always comes back to haunt the person who sent it out, like a boomarang. Fortunately, good does too. You reap whatever you sow, so be careful what you plant in your garden.

Yes, witches are real, but witchcraft has nothing to do with voodoo.

As in like the Wicked Witch in Wizard Of Oz? The green skin, broom, and evil laughter? No, but Pagans are real, and yes they can influence the area around them and people with spells. It's not like Harry Potter though........

Yes, but not evil ones. There are pagan or white witches that cast spells that take away curses or to bless and protect your homes etc. There are no evil witches as they know whatever spell they cast, they get it back 3 fold, meaning that if they cast a spell of love, they will get love back 3times as much, if they cast a curse the witch will be cursed 3times as bad.

Witchcraft originally meant 'the craft of the wise'.
They were and are ordinary people who used the elements.. earth, air, fire, water, to manipulate the 'magic' of the natural world to assist and heal others.

I am a hedgewitch...I practice alone using herbalism as a tool to do exactly that. I DO NOT use natures magic to harm. NEVER! We have 'laws' the main one being 'do what you will but let it harm none'.

So yes, Witches are real.
