I don't live in Denver anymore but in my heart, Denver is #1. Denver definitely has a lot of things to do. Priority in the list is Water World as mentioned by others.
Other things to do in the summer:
* Confluence Kayaks (they provide lessons, rentals [bike rentals too]) Platte Street in Denver 80202
* Coors Brewery in Golden, CO
* Visit Estes Park (resort village at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, shops and restaurants and the famous Stanley Hotel).
* Buffalo Bill's Museum & Grave (Golden)
* Colorado History Museum
* Downtown Aquarium (accross from Elitche's)
* Imax Theater
* Molly Brown House Museum (Wadsworth)
* Cirque Du Soleil will be there from 06/22 - 07/22
* El Centro Su Teatro (they have plays, High Street)
* And there's always Colorado Springs with so many places to see and too short a time to see it all.
Denver does not lack activities, the trick is getting out of the box and explore. Good luck this summer.

Try Water World, that place is a blast. It's located in Denver. You can directions to get there piece of cake. Mapquest.com. Or you could go to Eliches, they have a waterpark too. Plus if you get tired of swimming than you can go ride a roller coaster or something.
