I am pro choice because abortion is a necessary option for those who have been raped and those who may die in childbirth, if not allowed to abort.

I do not think it should be used solely as a form of birth control and so we need to educate people about their options to prevent it from being used that way. But it must be kept legal because there are women who will die if it is not, and the woman's life should be as important as the child.

"In the case of abortion, what about cases of rape, incest, or worse, incestual rape? Should that child be forced to be born, subjected to the mental abuse that would almost certainly arise in a young woman that sees her rapist every time she sees her child? No, that wouldn't happen all the time, surely. But the possibility is there- it's a plausible and reasonable conclusion that it would be high risk to put the child in that situation, and adoption can't solve all issues there, either. I love the spewing ignorance I hear when someone argues that unwanted babies would simply be adopted... it doesn't work that way.

What about the quality of life for the child? Never mind the fact that ultimately we want people to be responsible for their choices- what's important isn't whether society gives those that have premarital sex punishment, but if the embyro that could become a life would have a life worth living. Pro-lifers miss the point... quality of life concerns are more human, important, and pro-life than any anti-abortion activist."

But, also you should not limit your vote to that of one issue alone: you should look at all of the issues that the candidate stands for and what they have already accomplished or else you may be voting for some one who will do whatever they feel like once they are elected.

Many politicians say they are for or against an issue and then once they are elected they vote differently on issues, because they were bought by special interest groups: lobbyists and PACs by being given money from those groups they are obligated to vote the way the group wants and not what the American people want.

The time for voting on one issue alone has passed, we must look at the overall picture before electing the next President and other politicians to represent us.

I do not plan on voting for Hillary because I do not trust her.

I plan on voting for Obama: he trusts women and their doctors to make the personal decisions for themselves. He also says that you cannot argue pro life on the basis of religion alone: you have to have other reasons to give because there are many people of many different faiths in our country and it is not fair to impose your religion on them. He is a Christian by the way.

This is not the only reason I support him, however: there are many, I like pretty much all of his ideas. And I feel he is the most trustworthy candidate running. I have done my research and looked at all of the candidates on either side.

And like some of the others said above there are more important issues facing the nation than something that should be left a personal choice.

I am agnostic.

Abortion is not the only issue out there. You can't JUST vote for a Republican for the sole purpose of maybe having an abortion free country. I personally am pro-life, but that doesn't mean that I am going to vote Republican. In fact, I'm for Barack Obama for president in 2008.

And along with that, with any respect for human life, why would you vote Republican? Does the war ring a bell? And what about gay rights? BOTH of those issues deal with respect for human life. So far you have one violation against the Democrats, but Democrats have two violations against you.

Besides, you can't stick all Democrats in one category and say that they are all pro-choice.

I used to be on the anti-abortion side of the fence, but became pro-choice when I realized how juvenille many on the anti-abortion side can be on the issue, especially when coming to demonize anyone who disagrees with them on the matter.

Also, there are many other "pro-life" issues such as how we treat the elderly and the poor that I find the Republicans lacking in.

I've come to believe that the individual woman and not the armchair quarterbacks on the right should make that difficult decision.

I am a conservative Republican and I am pro-choice. I am not pro-abortion, but I believe that my family and I should make the choice of what to do about a pregnancy, not you, not a religious group, not the government. Apparently, you have never been faced with the possibility of having a child that is severely physically and mentally deformed and wonder who will care for this person after his parents are dead? Talk to me again about being "mean, cold, and cruel" when you have faced such an agonizing dilemma. It's easy to talk about something you know nothing about.

You know there are more important issues in the world right now, and abortion is now considered a matter for the courts rather than the congress or president. The issue is considered dead in the congress because of the compromises made by each side in the past.

How? Because it was a Republican who treated the lives of the soldiers under his command so cavalierly by sending them into war on a whim. That's not respecting the sanctity of life.

Urik said it...couldn't have said it any better...

instead of talking about some unconscious groups of cells with no known friends or family and no lives....let's talk about the troops that have established lives, good friends, and family...

the biggest problem in this nation is not abortion...it is Iraq...abortion is pretty much a dead issue.

It is'nt a baby until the day it's born. Abortion has never been murder, ever, because the baby had'nt been born yet. Loving and respecting life is the definition of liberals: "peace and love" for example. Only Republicans have hatred, and a disrespect for live. Look at Iraq. Liberals do what they do because they love America. Republicans do what they do because they hate America.

Educate yourselves before you go pushing the vote button.......This is not an easy issue to choose sides...there are stipulations involved with every case....READ!!!!
