~~~ Love is like oxygen, you get too much you get too high, not enough and you're gonna die.~~~
Bitter sweet like dark chocolate. You love to eat it but too much will make you sick and it's very rich almost hard to eat. I know what real love is because I love someone to the point were I will always stand with them through thick and thin even if they tell me they hate me and never want to see me again or hope I die because I love them. I would give my life without ever think about it for them. I love them even when they tell me they have a new girl friend I just smile and say I'm happy for you because it's the truth it makes me happy when their happy. Though I do admit it hurt, love is like life very unfair and no one makes it though it like the dreamed they would.
Real love is when you would do whatever you culd to keep a person safe, happy and healthy, you would do whatever you could to help them anytime they needed it, the idea of them getting hurt hurts you more than if you yourself gets hurt. when you think they might be in danger you feel more scared than you ever even thought possible..as if your own life were in danger. seeing them happy is the main thing that makes you happy. It is being able to trust somebody else with your life, being able to talk,laugh and act like a complete idiot and not even be embarrased. It is feeling perfectly safe all the time! Love is about knowing when to pick your battles and knowing when to just shut up. It is about compromising and always being there to listen...even when you just do not want to. Its caring about somebody else just as much (or maybe even more) as yourself. It is amazing but hard at the same time.
According to Robert Sternberg's research, "Love" is an emotion consisting of three components: intimacy, passion & committment.
Intimacy, the feeling close and connected to someone (developed through sharing and very good communications over time). Intimacy is what makes you want to share and offer emotional and material support to each other.
-Intimacy alone is Liking (true friendship without passion or long-term commitment)
Passion, the feeling physically aroused and attracted to someone. Passion is what makes you feel "in love" and is the feeling most associated with love. It also rises quickly and strongly influences and biases your judgment.
-Passion alone is Infatuation (passionate, obsessive love at first sight without intimacy or commitment)
Commitment, pledging to your self and each other to strengthen the feelings of love and to actively maintain the relationship. Commitment is what makes you want to be serious, have a serious relationship and promise to be there for the other person if things get tough.
-Commitment alone is Empty Love (decision to love another without intimacy or passion)
Romantic Love: Intimacy & Passion, no Commitment
-Lovers physically and emotionally attracted to each other but without commitment
-“As in a summer romance”
Companionate Love: Intimacy & Commitment, but no Passion
-Long-term committed friendships or a marriage in which the passion has faded
-I love you but I’m not IN love with you
Fatuous Love: Passion & Commitment, but no Intimacy
-Commitment based on passion with without time for intimacy to develop
-Shallow relationship such as a whirlwind courtship
Consummate Love: A complete love consisting of all three components
Love is something that you can feel in you when you see this person and you get chills and get happy cuz they make you smile.
TRUE LOVE is when 2 people are just so happy together and every minute is complete bliss and you could go all your life without ever dating any other person in the world!
Love hurts though..Bad. and when you let your guard down, you're prone to get hurt.
I am careful with that and found the love of my life.
It feels so good to finally be in love....
There is no definite answer to this question, unfortunately. But to me, love is looking in the other's eyes and only seeing them even if there are a million people surrounding you.
