Hey guys, I was just wondering why computers, especially Dells, tend to slow down over time even when they have plenty of hard drive space? I know that defecient RAM often is the problem, but if that is true, then shouldn't they be slow when you get them? Any help would be appreciated.

If your computer has slowed down, it may be that your RAM is overloaded, your startup menu is overloaded, and you haven't keep up good maintenance. Try these and see if your speed doesn't improve:

- set wallpaper and screensaver to blank or none.
- review your start menu. Remove anything you don't need on a daily basis and load the as needed.
- run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, and Defrag every two weeks.
- from Internet Explorer:
Tools, Internet Options: delete cookies, delete files (including offline), delete history. You can set days to store history to 0 if you like.

After this, you have got to see some improvement. Please let me know. I would be interested.
