I guess they put Pickles on their burgers because they think pickles on Burgers is the equivalent of Relish on Hot Dogs.

I always order my food and tell them to leave the Pickles out just like many others who answered this before me.

You must not be from Texas. We all love pickles on almost anything. They put them on their burgers because no one would buy them otherwise. The few people that don't like them can always remove them. Don't know when it started, or why but can only tell you I would not buy a burger that didn't have them. I always add more when I buy a burger to go. Love my pickles!!!

It is just traditional for burger joints to throw those disgusting wastes of money on there. I think "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser says that McDonald's started that, but I don't remember why.

I don't know, but I don't like pickles on my hamburger. I always order and tell them to leave the pickles out, but usually they don't listen.

They know that people would expect pickles to be on their hamburger, and they do it so that people like them more.
