Is there such a thing as "conditional sentence" in law? If so, what is it?

Yes. Usually, a judge will sentence you to, say, "90 days conditional", along with probation. This means that you must comply fully with the terms of your probation, but if you breach those terms in any way, you WILL serve the 90 days in jail. In other words, you don't have to spend any time in jail providing (on the condition that) you do not breach the terms of your probation. Hope this helps.
