You really can't stop making mistakes, we all do it. It's part of being human. However you can cut them down. Start by thinking before you make a decision, taking into account what will happen depending on the choice you make. Try harder to get all the information you need quickly to make that decision, but do not take too long. The correct decision too late is the wrong decision.
Most mistakes are made because we didn't think something through first, or were done for selfish reason. Those are good starting points.

mistakes are necessary so we learn information by them but if you want to stop making so many take your time, think things out clearly before proceedeing to do or say something that may be a mistake.

By first realizing the difference between a choice, and a mistake....
A mistake might be that you put your keys down somewhere and can't find them...."I put them down by mistake"....
But when you're making the same "choices" over and over, you can't call them mistakes.
