Statistically it is higher than the national average. This is due to deployments, in which the military member is away from the family from six months to a year or more. People have a hard time maintaining a marriage with constant seperation. You become strangers and both people end up turning to people they are in more frequent contact with for emotional support. Police, Fire and EMS professionals have the same problems.

I think its hight with the military people because when my dad retired from the navy he and my mom filed for divorce after 20 years because he couldnt handle not being in the military

i would think it would be higher like it is with law enforcement because of the anxiety. I appreciate everything a soldier stands for. The reason i asked the question you answered was because many people in the U.S. seem to care maore about what everyone but a soldier thinks, yet swear up and down they support the troops. feel free to email me, god bless.
