The ants love to nest under rocks, so I would lift them and put ant bait underneath.

Hi again,,, I was hoping to connect about the indoor remodeling, but you can e mail me if you wish, about that.
The ants certainly can be sprinkled with an ant bait, available at an HD or Lowes for less than $4 per bag. It's systemic as well as a poison, so rain will not strictly ruin it immediately.
Another substance you can try is a mixture of DE (pool filter material) and Boric acid, both sold in powder form, both very effective when mixed, though Boric acid may be toxic to mammels. It will however get rid of all manner of insects.
