I'm not opposed to letting people drive at age 14. Not in big cities! I think the population should be around 10,000 and it should be a learners permit situation. I also think that people should be allowed to drink at age 18, the age of adulthood.
Here are the top 3 reasons (in your question):
1. Driving, good driving that is, involves watching out for what others do and yielding your own right of way (in other words, even though your light is green, the guy running the red light will win). 14 year olds never yield to their parents.
2. Look at the Governement. Do you see young, cool people in the Government? No. They look older than Grandpa and Grandma. Have you seen them drive? They actually think they can drive BETTER than you!
3. Patience. As you become older, you start to gain more patience. At 14 you have the patience of a fruit fly at a Ben and Jerry's ice cream party. In other words, you need some more time. Sorry.

it is 16 in most places but some reasons for not lowering it are:
Kids don't have enough motor skills at that age, they still need to master coordination.
Kids are still in middle school and would need more parking lots for their cars at the schools (sort of a week one)
20% of all accidents are caused by teens 16-19, and honestly do we need more kids on the road.
Also, unless we change the rules of teen driving, can we trust a car full of 14 year olds to be responsible?
I personally believe that the tests to get drivers licesnses should be much much tougher.
If the age were raised to 18 it would be fine with me,

3 reasons why a 14 year old should NOT have a license to drive:
1. They can't afford to drive due to not working
2. They class 50cent as a musician
3. They can't look over the steering wheel

already have to be 16 before you can drive. I think it should be raised to 17, heck maybe even 18 because a lot of kids aren't mature enough to be driving at all.

1 - Young people have a VERY disproportionate number of accidents, fatal and otherwise.
2 - Parents who can't just say NO! will have even higher insurance premiums (you folks in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Los Angeles know who I'm talking about, right? :-))
3 - The little darlings will get even LESS exercise than they get now and that would portend an even higher health care cost to the nation in the future (read: bad policy).

Three reasons why 14 year olds should not drive is too easy. They are too immature, they lack good decision making skills, and they lack the understanding of the dangers associated with driving.

NO, no, no.
Irresponsible behavior.
Lack of understanding.
Short attention span.
I vote raise the age limits. Here in Florida every weekend
kids die in senseless wrecks. Too many in the car, no seat belts, too fast , distracted?? Not even due to alcohol or under the influence. Just kids being kids.

Immaturity at younger ages. Insurance rates would rise for all. Car accidents would increase, with injuries to all, causing health costs to increase, as well as cars, and the products used for those cars. You can be a legal driver in most states, at 16.
