The first answer is incorrect. You actually dream many times every night. You will wake up extremely tired if you do not. But people normally only remember dreams that occur just before they wake up, and sometimes the memory of those dreams fades after a very, very short time -- seconds rather than minutes. So you ARE dreaming; you are just not remembering the dreams.

I know of no way to increase the likelihood of remembering your dreams. If you are using an alarm clock to wake up, you may be waking during a point in your sleep cycle when you are not dreaming. Dreaming only happens during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Try going to bed just a little earlier to change the point in your sleep cycle when you wake up. (Usually each cycle lasts about 45 minutes.)

Take a look at http://www.dr-dream.com/remember.htm It might help. Good luck!

The more you place value on your dreams, the more you will have. The more you practice trying to remember dreams, the more you will remember of each dream. One way to do these things is to write down your dreams in a dream journal, preferably when you first wake up before you forget the dream. The ancient Hebrew people would pray to God asking for more dreams.

You have had dreams during the last few days, but you don't remember them. If you want to have good dreams, think about all the positive things you have done during the day before you go to sleep at night.

Easy way is to be thinking of something you want to dream about as you lay waiting to go to sleep. Start your own story or scenario, and then drift off. Usually will help jumpstart your brain into creating a dream, often related to the topic you were thinking of.
