Yes. Denial of what?

I married a man who didn't like children but fathered five. (Two of them are pill babies.)

He didn't want to stay at home when he got in off the road. He didn't want to do anything with me or the children.

Yes, his house was clean and there was food for him and we were clean and tidy. He just wasn't interested.

I was so relieved when the divorce was final. No more tip-toeing around being quiet because he wanted to sleep (in the middle of the day). No more fixing a meal at 2:00 a.m. No more using Tide to wash his clothes because that's what his mother used. I hate the smell of Tide.

Even though I had to support the family, we were much better off. The kids had regular doctor and dental care, which they hadn't had while with him. They had new school clothes and shoes each year. On and on.

I am quite happy. It's been 38 years now and he has since passed away. I have never re-married and never will. No man is going to have control over me and mine ever again.

Yes I was much happier when I got divorced. I didnt have to put up with his cheating and lying. My life was much better when I divorced. I had peace and the freedom to do what I wanted without having to answer to him. I have since remarried and have a great life now. Been with my husband for 17 years.

Absolutely. I think that divorce forced me to realize that there is nothing wrong with being single. I don't have to answer anyone if I decide to spend $300 on a cute dress. I can lounge around in mismatched sweats while enjoying a glass of wine on my couch. I don't have to worry about taking care of someone else. For once, I am able to be completely selfish and do whatever I want!

Yeah, damn straight I'm happier now. I finally got fed up hearing how worthless, fat, ugly and stupid I am. So honest! No denial!
