A long time ago my aunt would make these Ouija boards and sell them.. She'd take a big board and paint it and design it and then there was this clear coating that she poured over it. When it dries, it's really nice and clear and hard and I want to know what it was.. I just can't remember, and I don't know how to contact my aunt anymore. Does anybody have any idea?

If it was just one coat, it was probably an "epoxy resin" (they come in two parts, and are mixed one to one).
Some of the brand names of epoxy resins are Envirotex Lite, Ultra-Glo, BarTop, Aristocrat Liquid Glass, and Glaze Coat (that last one from hardware store... the others from a hobby or craft store, plastics store, or online).

There's much more info on Epoxy Resins and how to use them on this page at my site:

Btw, epoxy resins are different from polyester "casting" resins and urethane resins which you wouldn't want to use for this application.

It's also possible that she used a regular acrylic sealer like a polyurethane acrylic (Varathane, etc.), but it was more likely an epoxy resin if she "poured" it and got a thick coat just from that.

this is very simple to do if you have a few extra pairs of hands and the time to do it. You can find this at home depot. It is called Glaze Coat. It is a little pricey but I have used it on a bar top already. If the bar top is a large surface to be covered use a propane torch to pull the air bubbles out of the glaze coat. This stuff does have a very short working time so thats why you need a couple extra pairs of hands. It is also helpful to have some sort of screeding tool whether it be a piece of wood or like a floor squeege. Just make sure it will clear both sides of the bar this will help move the material around.

I have used many different types of coating...I finally found one that I absolutely love..."Triple Thick" by DecoArt. It is a brilliant brush-on gloss glaze...non-yellowing clear finish. It is very easy to use...doesn't leave brush marks and dries rather quickly. I paint bird house churches and use this after I paint it then I add any paper etc. and do one more coat...it brightens up the colors beautifully.
I buy it at Michaels.....good luck

It sounds like it could be Mod Podge. Mod Podge can be used to coat and seal a completed jigsaw puzzle...my grandmother would do this then frame the puzzles as pictures. I could see it being used to coat a board for a game.

Was it like a varnish? Probably varnish. Any craft store/hardware store sells clear coating and finish.
