Just purchased a Gateway GT5438 Desktop and the system will not recognize the DSL line. Embarq said to just hook the line to the back of the computer, but I ge a message that a line is not connected and they all are. Plugged DSL line into my old computer and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the Gateway site and download and install the
Intel(R) PRO Network Connections Software drivers off this page

If it still does not work contact Gateway because it is probably a hardware problem.

Click Start/Control Panel/Network Connections. If the Lan connection is disabled, right click on it and choose enable.
