I met a guy who scammed me out of 2500, I was an idiot ( i already know this ) for even going forward, but now he disappeared, wont answer my calls, but he keeps logging onto his myspace page where i met him. Is there anyway to find out the first and last name that he registered with, because the name he gave me was fake ?

Fill out an Internet Crime Complaint at
http://www.ic3.gov/
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C).

GOOD LUCK!!! Someone I know filed one of these due to an ebay scam. He finally wound up with his product, but the person who scammed him wound up in a lot of trouble! He had scammed others and was wanted on many other things too.

MySpace is not a trading site - it is a networking site. Even musicians do not sell their music directly on MySpace; you are redirected to a third party website to buy the music.

report it to the state police, and tell them the whole story, even in you have to exaggerate a little bit to make them feel bad for you and want to help you, tell them that you think this guy is still out there scamming other people too and stuff like that, people like that deserve to be in jail.

Im guessing he didnt use his real name when he signed up to myspace either, but thety might be able to use his ip adress to track him down, but thats a long shot.

Definitely contact MySpace:

http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=misc.contact

And get in touch with the police, they can subpoena MySpace to get them to release the scammers personal information. Don't be embarrassed, get even!

Hope this helps, if not - let me know :)

To start with, report this problem to your local District Attorney and see if they want to pursue the issue.
