I use to get earaches all the time when I was little. They hurt so bad I would cry from it....
Until I could go to the doctor, I would usually lay the ear that was hurting on a hot water bottle. What usually causes earaches is a buildup in the tube that comes from the back of your throat and connects to your middle ear. Or, it could be an infection (which is more common in little kids). To help open them, try this:
1. Chew gum
2. Gently blow through your nose while holding both nostrils closed until you hear a pop. This helps with ear drainage and can be done several times a day.
3. Take a hot shower – the steam will help to break up and soften earwax buildup.
For outter ear infections, try these:
1. Rubbing alcohol or strong drinkable hard liquor.
2. Wonder Oil. If you can't find Wonder Oil, warm vegetable oil will do the same thing.
3. Vitamin E straight out of a pierced capsule, a very powerful healing agent. Vitamin A works as well.
4. Garlic oil straight out of a capsule.
Good luck! I hope one of these methods help you...

Hi Jason, the greatest pain reliever is warm, moist heat around the ear. A warm compress-such as a towel rung out in hot water and pressed against the ear-brings the most immediate relief.
After you take a shower or bath; blow dry your ears instead of rubbing them. Soothe the ear with the warm setting of a hairdryer.
Puncture a piece of garlic and pour the juice in the ear. Garlic being a natural antibiotic will help to take the pain away.
Put some mineral oil (oil derived from a mineral source, such as petroleum, because it is inexpensive and rarely causes allergic reactions) in your ear before going in the water. Wear earplugs while swimming and avoid swimming in dirty waters.
Warm few drops of olive oil in a spoon. Using the dropper, put 2-3 drops in each ear after the oil has cooled down. This will help relieve pain. Please look full article:http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Home_Remedies_For_Ear_Aches/
Earaches are a painful thing; try some of these home remedies for earaches.

when i have ear aches but don't have medicine I take a cup, stuff the bottom with paper towels, soak the paper towels with really hot water and drain out the water so that the towels are hot without the water (obviously). Then just put the cup over the ear and keep it there. the hot steam should make the ear ache less painful. hope this helps.

all good suggestions on the site. For the servest ear aches I recommend ear candling.. Go to an expert ear candler, an ammature can do more harm than good. Most herbal practitioners or health stores can refer you to a good one!

Find someone to ear candle you. You'll be amazed at how many things this will help! You can buy ear candles in a health food store and read the directions. This is a two person treatment, so have a friend help.
