I live in the boonies so I am surrounded by outdoor materials such as pine needles, rocks, birch bark, leaves, flowers, feathers, twigs, clay, etc... I'm wondering what type of crafts I can make with such things. Any ideas would be awesome :) Thanks.

pine needle baskets, fairy houses, macrame using twigs and feathers in it, smooth oval rocks could be painted to look like animals, clay you can form into ceramics, then bake in a brick enclosure layered with sawdust, and set on fire then covered with a large metal plate, or done in a metal trash can in the reku method. bird houses, You need to see if you can find a copy of Alicia Bay Laurel 's book Living on the earth, it was a hippy handbook of crafting and living in the woods, i loved it, even gave recipes for glazes for ceramics, and home birthing of your child. you would just love it. i used to hand bulid ceramic boxes and such using leaves to press into it to make the surface design, you could do that, or you can press flowers and leaves and use them on the fronts of greeting cards or in home made paper, for pulp get a end roll of news print from a local small newspaper, they often sell the end of rolls because its a pain when you are running a paper and the roll is too short to finish all the pages. just soak the newsprint in water, then blend in an old blender, and spread on a screen and let dry, you can mix your flower petals and dry leaves in by pouring your paper on the screen, then laying the leaves or petals on it, they should be dry before you do, then blend up a little bit of tissue paper and spread that over your newsprint and petals. good luck. nice to have a hippy sister at heart, im from the original bunch, oh, and sticks , string and flat disks of ceramic makes great windchimes, or even orange juice can lids, if you use frozen juices,

Make a Weaving. use twigs or sticks for the top and the bottom of the loom. Use string or yarn and wrap it from one stick to the other. Put the sticks over the backs of 2 chairs to make sure the sticks are an even distance apart. Hang the sticks over the back of 2 chairs, and start weaving. Using the same string or yarn, start with a few rows of regular over under weaving, You can use a comb to push the yarn down. Then get creative, weave into the piece a row of birch bark, an interesting vine, etc. experiment with color and design, and remember you do not have to fill the whole space. Hang your art on an outside wall, or in a tree, and watch it change with the weather.
totally hippy-ish!

Well you can make a poster! Get a thick piece of paper, leaves, flowers and feathers to start out with. With the flowers make a border around the piece of thick paper. If you have some markers, write like "Fight the Power!" or something in the center. With the leaves and feathers you can glue them on some areas of the poster. You're done! Well that's my idea of a poster craft.

Basket making comes to my mind, but:

Almost any crafts done with store-bought materials can be done with natural materials too.
Instead on Fimo clay, you can use natural clay.
Instead of buying leather you can make birch-bark bags.
Use feathers and pine-needles for decoration.

Google with images on Birch-bark for instance, to see what others do with the materials, and mostly there are also sites with instructions how to harvest the materials.

Hippies, no doubt are better than Emos. A hippie embraces peace and love. Emos sit in dark rooms and listen to music that makes you want to cut your wrist. I'm all for it. Bring back the hippies. Peace.
