There's no hole in the roof and the windows are done up, it's underneath the driver's seat and in the footwell behind the drivers seat.
Could anyone help me figure it out please.

id look around the rubber seal real good on the drivers side,it may be leaking a small amount, and causing that to happen,it doesn't take much rain to add up in side of one, like you said though it will have to stop raining to find it,also look around the drivers side kick panel and make sure its not coming in around the vent area older cars was popular for doing this, good luck i hope you find it.

This could be the heater core. Do you smell a odor of anti freeze? You might-then again you might not
When a heater core goes out on a car it lets coolant (or water if thats all you have in your radiator) leak into the floorboard of a car. Usually on the passenger side. The heater core is a bear to change on most cars, as sometimes it requires removing the dashboard to get it out.
Lets hope its just a leak in a window or something else. What i said would be considered a worse case option.

rain water leaking into the car is difficult to find as it can get in at so many places. I think the best way to find it is to shut your self in the car with a torch and have some one play a hose pipe all over the car. Good luck.

I would bet it has air conditioning which is has not been used all winter and has suddenly been turned on recently.

If I am correct then read the car manual about aircon or take it to a dealer.

Happened to my Moms car. The wind shield wasn't making a good seal.
The windshield had to be removed and re-sealed. Not a big job for a windshield repair shop.
I've had my rear windshield replaced in my driveway. They came to me.

look for a hole letting in water from underneath the carpet - it could be caused by rust

I wonder if your car is a VW Golf MKIV. They sometimes suffer from it.

Could be a number of issues... from sunroof to badly fitted pollen filter to door seals, and other numerous possibilities.
