From what I have heard from scattered sources, he's a Smithian capitalist who wants to dismantle the socialist system in France, and he wants to reconcile relations with the US.

He is great for france as far as I am concerned!

OK, I heard he is the son of an immigrant - his mum is Jewish and he was raised a Catholic.

He is pro America

And wants to straighten out France

He will do a great job!

He wants to do away with the 35 hour work week, weaken workers unions, and boost the French economy with American dollars.

He also is the son of two immigrants; hypocritically promising to enact stricter immigration laws.

It will be interesting to see how long he lasts in the French government. His first term will be the most important factor over weather he stays for a long time like Chirac, or if he gets the boot.

He is an economic conservative who believes in global warming. He wants to do something about Islamic immigration and reduce the separtion of church and state. He is Pro-American and he is Catholic, something that he is very proud of so that might influence his politics. Sarkozy is the son of a Hungarian immigrant and his father left him when he was five. He isn't a conservative like the ones here but he is right-wing compared to other French politicians.

He is a little hypocrite who would have said anything to anyone to get elected...I don't believe that he is going to do somehting good for the ordinary French ,rather for the rich ones...For France nothing good,for US another Blair...

He's pro USA and conservative. He doesn' want Turkey to be included in the Euopean Union even if the US government wants that.
