She is 3 and a half months pregnant and I have a feeling its a boy.
If its a girl what do you think of the name Gabriella?

My father in laws name is Eckhard and he would love his grandson to share the name Eckhard.
I was thinking I could call him Eckster for a nick name. What do you think of Eckster as a name if I have a son.

I like Gabriella. About the boy name... I think it would be good for a middle name. We gave all of our kids middle names after someone special and the special someone enjoyed it.

My 3rd-4th grade teacher was called Eckhard... but iirc it was his surname, not his first name (not sure though). Also, that was in The Netherlands, not in the US. He was a good teacher, but I don't think I'd want to name my son that here in the US, to be honest. Why? Well, see the other people's replies... Americans just plain don't like it. Also, I can't think of a nice nickname for it either. We plan on naming our son Yevgeny (Russian for Eugene), but at least we'll be calling him Gene in daily life. What I'd do if I were you is find another name and use Eckhard as a middle name instead.
I don't like Gabriella either, but that's because I know two girls called Gabrielle that I don't like, and none that I do like, so that's just my personal bias. Plus I'm not into biblical names (Gabriella is named after the angel Gabriel). Otherwise there's nothing wrong with it, I think.

I like Gabriella. Eckhard is not my favorite. Kids will make fun of him in school with that name.

Uhh yeah Eckhard aisle three what type of name is that it reminds me of Eckerds Drug Store. Keep looking and sry but that is worse than what Julia Roberts named her child.
Gabriella is pretty I am hoping you all have a girl if you decide to go w/ Eckhard. Sorry Really but that just can't happen and you did ask.

i like gabriella but eckhard it reminds of that drugstore/pharmacy but its spelled a different way sry not to fond of it
