According to Active Power Inc., their non-battery UPS's last about 20 years. Im just wondering how accurate this estimate is.

'Non battery' UPS? How would that work? UPS stands for uninterruptible power supply. That would eliminate the 'un'.
Sounds more like a surge protector only.
My UPSs usually last until the batteries wear out, and then the batteries cost so much, I just buy a new UPS.
Right now I have 3, and the main one is a Cyberpower 1,200VA unit. It was about $130.00

The ups can last for many years, the batteries may need replacing at intervals, on one particular make at 6 month intervals! (No names but you asked the question) There are some very good Belkin ones, I have used them a lot and never even had to replace one battery yet.

it's probably quite accurate as the average home only experiances power loss for about a few hours a year. and there battries wont be under much strain so will last a long time.
