Here we go again--blaming ALL for the actions of a few.... FACTS are---ALL PITBULLS are NOT raging mean animals.... it is the OWNER who makes ANY dog aggressive---even a damn COLLIE can be trained to be aggressive or BECOMES aggressive if mis-treated..... a pitbull that has been brought up with the proper care, attention, love and training JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DOG, can be a loyal, loving, playful dog even with KIDS.... I have friends who have ADORABLE pitbulls who gleefully play with their TODDLERS and wouldn't even THINK of being aggressive or of biting someone... However, I also know people who, because of their TOTAL LACK of ATTENTION, DISCIPLINE,and LOVE, their dogs ARE more aggressive... and I've known people who have used pitbulls and TRAINED them to be guard dogs or ATTACK dogs...it is NEVER the dog who should be blamed for the way they are---it is the fault of those awful people who RAISE the dog to be aggressive... A good dog owner creates a good dog---ANY DOG.. a bad dog owner usually creates a bad dog.. ANY DOG. A dog with a normally good disposition (Labrador retrievers for example) can be TAUGHT to be aggressive and mean spirited as well......give the dog a break and start complaining about the REAL villain in this scenario---THE OWNER!!!!!!!

My daughter has a pitbull and she has always treated it like you would treat any puppy. She didn't crop her ears or anything either. She became a very nice family pet and has never even snapped at any of her three children.
Rosie is a beautiful buff-colored dog. She thinks she is a lap dog. She is very protective of her pack. She never attacks other dogs; she just plays with them like any dog would.
My point is that if you treat them like pets, they are just like any other dog. They're often chosen by evil people for dog-fighting because they have strong muscular bodies and dogged determination. They become bad dogs only when they are trained that way. I have a toy poodle that is more aggressive than Rosie.
My whole point is, your animosity is misdirected. You should hate the crazy evil people who do this to dogs. Someone should put them in a cage and make them kill each other.

That was such a sad story. Poor George, I feel for his owners. I wonder if the owners of the Pitbulls have ever trained them, paid attention to them?
I was attacked badly by a German Shephard when I was 5, and I feared them all through out my childhood. I've learned they are not all bad...as I owned 2 during my adulthoood, and they were trained to sit, shake, kisses, etc.
I would not want to own a Pitbull, I am not fond of them. It's too bad they have a bad rap.... I just love all animals, and feel so bad for the ones neglected.

Why stop at Pit Bull dogs? How about Rottweilers and German Shepherds? Bull Mastiffs and Great Danes? Who could forget Cujo's raging St Bernard? Boxers?
These dogs, Pit Bulls, are not born killers. They are trained into aggressive weapons, fighting dogs. It's the owners, not the dogs.
I have seen Pit Bulls be just as friendly and gentle with a child as any other family pet is. Don't condemn a whole breed for the bad behavior of human beings.........

My best friend has 2 & they are adults & I have no fear of leaving them alone to play with my kids. They are the sweetest dogs I know.I think because the tv only shows dog bites when they involve Pitbulls is why people think they are "all" mean.I think it just makes them good headlines.I think there is a bigger problem with ignorant "raging idiots" out there!

you have no idea what you're talking about. you are a victim of the media. why do you think you only see pitbull attacks on the news and not a lab or poodle? because pitbulls will get more attention! i have a pitbull and if anything, she will lick you to death. she is more obedient and nicer than my siberian huskies or my boyfriends australian shephard. if you searched for poodle attacks just as you did for pitbulls, you will find them. don't speak about things you know NOTHING about. you're a HUMAN why are you being prejudice against an ANIMAL? i mean, we have enough prejudice in this world against one another but you have to stoop to hate animals who can't stick up for themselves? lame...real lame. why don't you do POSITIVE research on pitbulls. it's the owners that make them 'raging' by feeding them gun powder-wouldn't you be 'raging' if you were fed gun powder since you were an infant? yeah, i'd say so. educate yourself before you speak.
if you're black, i'm sure you don't like to be stereo-typed as a ghetto dope dealer. if you're white i'm sure you don't like to be stereo-typed as trailer trash. so why must you stereo-type ALL pitbulls? you should know that a few do not represent all.
& of course you've heard of the 'sweet and controlled' ones snapping-that makes a better 'scary' story for the media!

I love pitbulls! I have one named Dozer and he's awesome. I also have three small children (5, 6, and 3) and they can do anything to him and he loves it! Even if a stranger came and took one of my kids or came in my house or something, he'd only lick them, he's not even protective at all. He loves everyone. It's how they are raised, not the breed!

there are more bites from cocker spaniels, doberman pinschers, german shepards, rottweillers and others. All of the ones listed were on the "hitlist" long before pitbulls were even considered. BTW-it is the way they are raised and not just due the type of breed and that goes for ALL BREEDS!

It's not the dog, it's the owner. My friend has completely controlled pit bulls. Other dogs can be just as dangerous.
