The term 'cycle' refers to the entire month. From day one of your period until the day before you next period is a cycle. A cycle lasts approximately 28-35 days (some women longer). So, yes, you can only get pregnant if you are on your cycle.
If you mean can you ONLY get pregnant when you are having your period the answer is no. You get pregnant when you ovulate. On average that is 14 days BEFORE your period (that would be cycle day 14 for those who have a 28 day cycle). For very few women ovulation does take place early in the cycle and may cross time with the end of a period.
Please read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. I think you will find this book very informative and helpful. Trying to conceive or try to NOT conceive every woman of childbearing age should read this book.

On the 13, 14, and 15th day of your 28 day cycle is the most fertile part. You can get pregnant at any day, but most likely on those three days. Now, if you are not married, I hope you aren't planning on using this info to get pregnant. Get an education first, as when you have a child, your child IS your life and full-time job...24 / 7 !!!!!!! Forget friends.

Sometimes young people get this wrong idea coz adults talk about the pet cycle with no problems, but when it comes to humans they dont even say a word about it to their kids.
4 dogs & cats 4 example, this work exactly the opposite.
they get pregnant if they have sex during their period.
4 humans its a little trickier as a woman could always get pregnant....depending on the woman of course.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but you get pregnant within 24 hours of ovulation, which occurs approximately 14 days before your next period. This is why girls who have not had their first period yet can become pregnant, because you are fertile 2 weeks before. I hope this helps.

Not always. Getting pregnant is different with everyone. Generally if your on your period you don't get pregnant, but it is still a possibilty. Most pregnancies occur 12 to 14 days before your period starts.
