Have an Old Homelite Weed eater - can't find the manual - want to mix some fuel but don't understand the ratio

Most of them are 40 - 1 it wont hurt to have to much oil it just smokes a little.

I agree with 40 to 1 ratio. You could start off with a lower ratio. A little smoke is better than none as far as the motor goes.

all you have to do is buy the container of 2 cycle oil that mixes with one gallon of gas, pour it in to a gallon gas can and fill the rest with gas.

40:1 is a safe bet.
