My thought on this is that when two people, (of course of opposite sex) climb into the sack, one is going to be on top. If the 'church' and the government are playing kissy face, what are the chances that in time, your priest, rabbi, iman or minister will become just another government functionary? Do the Jesus (or Allah) freaks really want this?

Why do they have to be called freaks? You are assuming that they are wrong on an issue you cannot prove by calling them freaks...shame on you...
As far as the government is concerned...I don't want to be in bed with the government and I don't want them in bed with church's...I want them to get a home of their own, get out of mine, and sleep there...

This question doesn't require a right or wrong answer, because the right answer will surely not agree with you, and won't get a best answer, unless they do agree with you! This country was founded on a "church" foundation, and the government should be run by a "church" foundation, because "jesus freaks", don't go around on terrorist campaigns, killing innocent people, or blow up towers of innocent people! And they don't make the people of their own country suffer consequences, of stupid terrorist campaigns for their own egotistical reasons! And using religion as a scapegoat!

They do seem to want that. What they don't realize is that everywhere that church and state are combined there has been trouble. Iran is a great example.

Religion is as equal to the greedy needs of those who preaches it and run it : they want total control in politics to control people and make them slaves to their needs !

That's all i can say about that.
and God got nothing to do with all that !

so they can abandon the US Constitution and claim their moral authority to violate the law.

It's bogus, inquisition style crusadership to steal from poor countries and prop up the insecure rich.

yes it's what they want...

jesus said,"render unto caesar that which is caesar's and unto God that which is God's" it was the first ever reference to "separation of church and state". but since christians (and other fundamentalist types), don't know the diff between "fatih" and "religion", they are full of fear and need the gummint to protect them from the wiles of Satan.
