there isnt supposed to be a 'good' patch. most of the time, the relationship is supposed to be good and based on good. there are only "bad" patches when theres a bump, but overcome that and its better than anything.

All relationships go through bumps in the road (bad patches) but the good should always outweigh the bad. Think about the fights you normally have. Are they just silly fights over stupid things or are they fights over major things like how many kids do you want (she wants 10 and you want 0).
About the face slapping, unless you are into BDSM and enjoy that kind of kink, then I think you should really examine the relationship because there shouldn't be any hitting going on by either party.
Maybe sit down and talk to her about the reasons you two fight and see what you can come up with as an answer.

Heh, again, a page where most of the answers don't get the sense of humour in the question.
I understand most relationships go through a 'good patch,' but this is normally what is called the 'honeymoon phase' prior to the relationship attaining the normal state known as 'miserable habit.' Miserable habit is normally only alleviated by divorce or death.
You appear to be in a totally separate state. You sure you arenae about to get dumped?

I have been in a relationship for 8 months now and of course relationships go through 'good patches'. I don't think you have
anything to worry about. Maybe your girlfriend is sending you a message, like maybe she needs help or advice. Just lend her your attention and show her that you care about what is on her mind.

Apologize, man! Civil is not the right scenario for a relationship. It's akin to cool - as in icy. Patch up with her and forgive each other. Otherwise decide what you want to do.

Most relationships are a good patch, its the bad patches you have to look out for.
Being nice to each other is a good thing.
This is really nothing to worry about.
But if your and her's relationship is based off that i think its unhealthy

Every relationship has its ups and downs. During those downs it is best to lay low but be there. Human are not perfect and many times human needs to step back and reassess life, not just relationships with others but with themselves.
A few days is nothing is the scope of life. Send her one red rose with the words, "You are my love, my life and a part of my heart and soul."

It's only been two days. Count your blessings she hasn't slapped you but love yourself more than that by not accepting any kind of abuse from anyone. You should both treat each other with respect and kindness.

It's not your relationship you should be worried about but you yourself. If not getting pimp slapped lately bothers you then you have some serious self esteem, self destructive and dysfunctional issues. Maybe you shouldn't be a participant of a relationship with your twisted view of what you think one consists of.

haha, wow. Most relationships are mostly made of the 'good patches', but if you want to shake things up a bit, maybe YOU should hit HER in her coupon!
