There is a fine line between 'brave' and 'stupid'!

Rode around Gran Canaria on a motorbike on my own. Over the high sided windy bridges, round the coast road, along the motoway. Took me all day. Did not know where I was going. Lights did not work on bike so the tunnels were just awful, goats in the road, got chased by local hooligans, nearly splatted by numerous reckless coach drivers, almost went over a cliff when the road collapsed in front of me sun blazing down, then torrential rain. I was cold, wet, tired and hungry and a long way from home. I injured my back swerving to miss a goat and a coach nearly took my kneecap off. And all because I could not go back through the tunnel between Gran Canaria Motorway 1 and Gran canaria Motorway 2.

For lots of reasons, it was the most frightening thing I have ever done. It is the first thing to jump into my head when someone mentions 'frightening things'.

I only felt 'brave' when I had finished - but then you often only DO feel brave when it is all over!

Many years ago when i was a young single mother living alone. I saw something outside the back door of the kitchen. When i looked out of the window at the side all i could see was someones feet, bearing in mind it was dark at the time. I knew instantly that someone had been spying on me. I was very scared at this point. My daughter was asleep upstairs.
I thought, should i pull the net back that was on the back door to see who it was or call the police. I kept shouting "who's there" but no answer and this person still didn't move.
Eventually after plucking up the courage, i went to the back door, pulled the net curtain away and saw who it was.
It was the son of a friend of mine at the time.
I shouted at him and said "what on earth are you doing. All he could say was "I'm after my mom ,is she here"? This lad was 18 years old by the way. I said "no she aint" and what was wrong with knocking at the front door instead of scaring the life out of me. He didn't know what to say and i told him to leave and get out of my back garden.
I did not phone the police as i knew his mother so he was lucky. That was the bravest thing i have ever had to do because i was scared and thought someone was gonna get in and attack me. If i hadn't have looked to see who it was, i would have never known to this day.

I confronted a teacher about unfair he is to some of his students and how he has no right to play favorites. Keep in mind the teacher was 6' 4" and weighed over 300 lbs.

I saved a guy from diabetic shock once at the restaurant. After he had left I sat down and just literally shook for half an hour about how I found the guts to force him to drink the OJ when he was ready to hit me.

Prevented a friend of mine being raped. Saw her being followed on the beach by this weird guy from the balcony of our rented apartment, took the car and drove like mad and just got there in time as the guy got hold of her. Luckily, I just had to shout "Hey" for him to go away coz I ain't no hero!
