Ride the bike around to get it nice and warm (operating temperature).
Adjust the idle screw to get it to idle.
Turn the mixture screw in and out until you get the smoothest idle.
Then turn the screw in 1/2 turn.
That's the correct way to adjust the mixture screw. There is no one setting. Every bike's engine runs differently and has to tuned.
Make sure the air cleaner looks brand new and is lightly oiled with air filter oil (if none is available, use the oil you use in the pre-mix)..

Normally 2-1/2 turns from tight, but you will have to tweak it a little too.

Did your carb get serviced as well?

You may need new jet needles, in the carb. Might also need a good cleaning.

what does the service Manuel say also have you checked the gas filter in line .not sure what a rm is 2 stroke this is a motorcycle or not .does this carb have a float assb in it sounds like the float is sticking closed which means the needle and seat need replacing and then adjust accordingly .just a thought if there is a float assb.if no float what do the jets look like are they stopped up could be the jet has got a piece of junk in it or both and could restrick the flow of fuel

Depends on what kind of screw you are trying to screw. More than likely a flat head driver.

It's adjustable for a reason. Start about 1.5-2 turns out, but adjust as necessary.
