DSL/Cable Modem Lan/Ethernet port to Internet/Wan port on router(this is the one kinda by itself on the router)

Computer Ethernet port to port 1,2,3, or 4 on the router(these are the 4 kinda squished together)

You need some info from your internet service provider to do the router settings- so call them

well usually on the back there are 5 Ethernet ports and one of them is by itself or a little farther away from others that port is where you plug your internet source in like your dsl or cable modem. and the other ones go to your computer your xbox etc.
