The future in Minnesota is now. The Vikings have banked their season on the development of Tavaris Jackson. I would love to see him become a big-time QB. You just never know. Jackson could be as good of a QB as JaMarcus Russell. I just wonder how long it will take for him to make things happen.
The skill players (i.e. wide receivers) need to step it up this year. I just hope that when the Vikings take a step back this year, they still allow Jackson and Childress a chance next year. Hoepfully, with a better team.

Yes, Tarvaris Jackson will carry this team for years because he is a very good quarterback and makes good decisions on and off the field. I think ever since Culpepper left the Vikings they been having a lot of QB trouble. Brad Johnson helped them a little in 2005, but in 2006 he was terrible. Tarvaris Jackson will be a great Quarterback and will lead his team to the superbowl someday

We will find out what Tarvaris has this season. I am a Vikings fan too, and I am hoping for the best. I don't have a lot of confidence in our wide receivers, but I think Tarvaris can do a great job, he is fast enough to get out of the pocket and can make plays with his feet, that will help him a lot.
His arm strength is incredible. As long as our wideouts make the plays for him, he will be just fine.
In case he doesn't have a good season this year, we can always go after Chad Henne, Colt Brennan, etc in next years draft.

I agree he is a good player and can lead the team but he's going to need help from the defense and he needs capable WRs and some drafted players like Troy Williamson aren't working. Adding Adrian Peterson was upsetting because Chester Taylor has the skills to become a solid RB and I am unsure of Peterson's size (210-200-Lbs.)
Hopefully, under the guidance of Brad Childress, Jackson can show his skills and lead the team to the Super Bowl.

He has skill. He hopefully will have a good enough defense so he has room to breathe. With the rushing team that he will have now that Adrian Peterson can share the backfield with chester taylor, he might just prove to be ok. He also adds sidney rice to the mix of wrs.

I personally liked him from what I saw out of him last year. He's a scrambler and those types of quarterbacks get the defense runnin around a lot and they make plays for themselves. This guy will have great success in the future.

If he's the future of the Minnesota Vikings then you're future looks bleak. They should have drafted Brady Quinn.

It's too soon to tell about Tavaris Jackson. He obviously has raw skills but he still has to prove himself at the NFL level.

He's talented, but he's still unproven. A good backup wouldn't hurt.
With his scrambling ability (somebody called him a right handed Michael Vick), and two good RB this could be one of the best rushing teams.
