other in the Eurovision Song Contest.... that's all I know about them"

It seems to me that all of them voted for Russia and the Ukraine, and namely those countries don't represent the Baltic states native inhabitants (regardless the noticable number of Russian-speaking population). What makes some people think as it is expressed in my quotation?

Almost all the voting was of the 'slap on the back thanks very much' type.
In the case of the Baltic states and Russia, it's essentially 'thanks for not invading and keeping out of our hair.'
I don't think most other nations bother with the telephone voting system used in the UK. I mean, it's not very likely that Bosnians voted Serbia as the best song if it was an open vote. That pair have only just stopped throwing bullets at each other! If that was a public vote, I'll pickle my bits and eat them.

They possibly vote for each other because they understand what they are singing. In any event, being British does not mean that our represented song is the best. In fact, I find that in the last decade our songs don't count up to much.

It's about time we stopped wasting our time with this stupid 'compitition' (and recognised it for the lottery it really is)

One thing I would say - we really deserved the result = our entry was total RUBBISH ...
